Siloam had more rain. It came down in torrents. The winds blew. Bradford pear trees split and they fell anywhere they could land. Other trees fell also, just broke off and fell. No one was hurt.

Palmer Whitaker died last week. He was a well-known resident of our community. He is survived by his wife, Molly. Please remember her.

Vicki is still recuperating and able to get to church. Pat C. is driving some. She says her plastic knee is working fine. Mary D. has had eye surgery and now declares she can see with two eyes. Well, so much for modern medicine.

Do remember Don Fulk in your prayers. Don has pneumonia and is a bit on the puny side.

Keith Flippin is having some health problems. Remember Maureen and Pansy. Well, I finally got to remove the brace from my wrist. It still hurts some, but not like it has for eight months.

Old age, need I say more??

Dan Hemmings has such a good voice and he did the solo part in the song, “The Light House,” on Sunday. I just sit there mesmerized when he or his dad, Bob, sing. And mama Joy can sing, too!

Well, we had the Hamlin cousin’s reunion on Sunday in the fellowship hall of Siloam Baptist Church. Now these are the grandchildren of Thomas V. and Fannie Wood Hamlin. We all grew up on the Rockford Road (Salem Church Road) and attended Salem Baptist Church.

Four girls, all first cousins, graduated from Dobson High School in 1953.

When the cousins came on Sunday and brought their families, we had a crowd! I think someone counted 90 people. And the table was well-filled with “the most delicious” food.

We always make group pictures after we eat, and I think we got some good ones this year. I love family get-togethers.
