PILOT MOUNTAIN — Mr. Richard Allen Jule, 72, of Pilot Mountain, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Woltz Hospice Home, Dobson.

He was born Sept. 16, 1937, to Elmer and Lydia Jule, in Cambridge, Mass., and grew up in Newton, Mass.

Mr. Jule served in the USAF, stationed in Darmstadt, Germany from 1955 to 1958. His 30-year career in the U.S. Government included extensive overseas travel in Europe, Africa and the Mideast. After his retirement from the Central Intelligence Agency in 1994, he was an employee of QuestTech, Inc. and, most recently, CACI Technolgies, Inc. He and his wife have resided in Pilot Mountain since 2005 where he enjoyed vegetable gardening, photography, fishing and reading as well as spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Jule was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Blake Jule.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Balasky Jule of Pilot Mountain; his sons, Daniel Eric Jule and wife Kirrily Jule of Perth, Western Australia, and David E. Jule of Fredericksberg, Va.; daughter, Ingrid Violet Burnia of Fredericksberg, Va.; three grandchildren, David Burnia, Miriam Burnia and Avi Burnia; son-in-law, Hussein Burnia , all of Pilot Mountain; a nephew, Robert B. Jule of Ninilchik, Ala.; and niece, Karen A. Jule of Newalla, Okla.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010, at Howell-Nelson Funeral Chapel in Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Chaplin Randy A. Hillman of Forsyth Medical Center will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pilot Mountain Outreach Center, P.O. Box 190, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041, in care of Jimmy and Karen Caparolie.
